•  The title of this beautiful Tarot refers to Mlle Lenormand, a pseudonym for Marie Anne Lenormand (Alencon 1768 – Paris 1843), the French fortune-teller who went down in history as the cartomant of Josephine Beauharnais, first wife of Napoleon Bonaparte.
• Even if Mlle Lenormand never invented a deck of cards, toward the middle of the nineteenth century numerous French and German card manufacturers designed cartomantic decks whose titles recalled this most renowned modern Sybil.
• The Lenormand Tarot was based on these decks, whose attractive figures directly express all different kinds of existential situations.
