Terracotta smudge bowls are wonderful tools for your smudging rituals, but they require some care due to the porous nature of the clay. Here’s a simple guide on how to use and clean your terracotta smudge bowl.

How to Clean Your Terracotta Smudge Bowl

1. Let It Cool – After use, ensure the bowl has cooled down completely before handling.
2. Remove Ash and Residue – Use a dry brush or soft cloth to remove any leftover ash or herbs.
3. Clean with Minimal Water – If needed, dampen a cloth (never soak it) to wipe the inside and outside of the bowl. Dry immediately.
4. Avoid Soaking in Water – Terracotta is porous and absorbs water, which can weaken the bowl. Never soak it in water.
5. Dry Completely – After cleaning, let the bowl air dry completely before using it again.

Extra Care Tips

• Add Sand – Placing a layer of sand inside can help distribute heat and protect the bowl from damage.
• Store Properly – Keep the bowl in a dry, cool area when not in use. Avoid placing it in direct sunlight or extreme temperatures.
